Jerry Bradley Harris, 80, of Decatur, passed away peacefully, at his residence, surrounded by family on June 5, 2023. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 1:00PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00PM to 1:00PM prior to the funeral.
He was born June 10, 1942 to Jessie and Pearl Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marshall and Lester Harris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Brenda Harris, sister Frances Minyard, son B.J. Harris (wife Victoria), Daniel Harris (wife Jessica), daughter Teresa Harris, five grandchildren, Cade, Drew, Nathan, Dustyn, Andy, and four great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jerry was a graduate of Corner High School and UAB with a degree in accounting. He served in the United States Air Force with a rank of Staff Sergeant. He was employed by the state of Alabama as a State Auditor, Examiner of Public Accounts, and Auditor of the ABC Board. Later, he was employed in Decatur at Goss Electric and Contractor Service and Fabrication.
The family would like to thank the pallbearers and members of our church family at Central Park Baptist Church for love, support, and many prayers during Jerry’s illness.
