Jennie Veves Stovall – Obituary

Funeral service for Jennie Veves Stovall, 71 of Trinity will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Town Creek with Elder Leonard Shackelford officiating and inhumation to follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Monday from 2-6 and Tuesday from 10-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Jennie was the fifth child born to the late Hebert H. Stovall and Edna Fitzgerald Stovall on April 19th in the year of our Lord, Nineteen Forty-two in Decatur, Alabama. She departed this life on January 1st in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Fifteen. She was preceded in death by her sister Erma L. Stovall; brothers, Herbert E. Stovall and Kermit R. Stovall.

At an early age, she united with Christ and joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where her affiliation remained until her passing.

Jennie graduated from Tennessee Valley High School in Hillsboro, Alabama. After high school she attended Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University.

Jennie briefly married Willie Bailey; there were no children born of this union. She is survived by one sister, Frankie S. Bridges of Tuscumbia, Alabama; two brothers, Sanford O. Stovall and Azriel G. Stovall of Trinity, Alabama. Two special godsons Rev. Leonard Shackelford and “Lil R.J”. She is held in memory by her nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
