Jeffery Brooks GoodwinJeffrey (Shorty) (Jeff) Brooks Goodwin 62 of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on October 6th after many years of chronicle illness.

Memorial services will be held at his home where all his family and friends will eat, sing and celebrate how he would see fit. No stick in the Mudd folks a loud.

Jeffrey was born in Vivian, Louisiana to Barbara and Maxwell (Mac) Goodwin on December 28, 1961. He graduated from Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1979. Jeffrey worked for General Motors and many other places that gave him the ability to master his good fortune of his mannerisms and sense of people. He also was part of General Motors as a Union leader which he was extremely proud of.

Most of his life was resided in Louisiana, Texas and lastly and his Forever home in Alabama.

He was married to his beloved wife who never left his side, Tammy C Goodwin for 17 glorious years.
Now his ashes will remain with her until eternity. Once she is laid to rest, they both will lay to rest at the same spot together.

He never met a stranger; he had always loved a good conversation and to make deals and hit those yard sales and estate ones as well. But if you knew him well you knew he must have a throw in or no deal. He was very outgoing and the biggest sense of humor like none other.

His biggest pride and first love was his beautiful daughter Amber Marie, she was one of his greatest prides of them all, she did no wrong in his loving father’s eye!

He second love was his grandbabies, which was his proudest moments! His first-born Grandbaby was James named after his most favorite brother Jimmy. They had a bond like no other. Once again, his daughter made him proud of her, for honoring his deceased brother. The most second proudest moment was Aria: Especially being able to be at Arias birth, boy was he ever the most, proudest grandpa ever! He also gained a son he thought was never to be possible Jonathan Bailey his wife’s son. They grew together and became very close. So close that until the end he stayed right by both his mother and Jeff. They always supported each other and that is what makes a family work. He was by his side as he passed in their home.

Now saying all of that! His sweetheart, the truest love of all times was his wife Tammy of 17 years. She always stood by him and he always knew she had him and he had her to the end of time. Which she was devoted and to the very end held his hand and never left his side. Everything she did for her Shorty was the truest love, compassion and understanding! She gave him piece of mind to be able to come home into her loving arms and pass with all the love he ever wanted and it was from her. Today we celebrated the love, sense of humor and his family! Today we rejoice in his honor and his own words: “Laissez les bons temps rouler!” Now if you knew this you love him.
