Obituary of Jeffrey Scott Edney Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Edney, age 62, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026. Born on April 26, 1964, in South Carolina, Jeff was the beloved son of Donald “Mike” Michael Edney and Carolyn “Dixie” Clayton Edney.

Jeff was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, and dear brother whose greatest joy in life was his family. A man of integrity and dedication, he took immense pride in his career and faithfully served as Director of Engineering with Sanmina Corporation, where his knowledge, leadership, and work ethic earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. After his time at Sanmina, he served as a chaplain for Christian Forums and as an advocate for other chronic pain patients, founding and running Chronic Pain Patients (CPP) news.

Before his health declined, Jeff and his beloved wife, Karen, shared a love for travel and created many treasured memories together. Their favorite escapes included trips to Panama City Beach and memorable cruises that brought them joy and adventure. Jeff found peace and joy in the outdoors, whether casting a line while fishing or enjoying a round of golf. He was also a passionate lover of classic rock and gospel music, and he had a special fondness for cats, whose companionship brought him comfort and delight.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Karen C. Edney; his son, Brandon Edney; his devoted parents, Donald “Mike” Michael Edney and Carolyn “Dixie” Clayton Edney; and his brother, Christopher “Chris” Edney. He will also be lovingly remembered by extended family members and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, humor, and steadfast presence.

Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved granny, Vivian “Granny” Clayton, whose memories he held close throughout his life.

Though he will be deeply missed, Jeff’s legacy of love, loyalty, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

“The greatest wealth you have is what you give away.” – Vivian “Granny” Clayton
