Jeannette Iva Gilbert age 90 of Athens, passed away January 4, 2014. Mrs. Gilbert was born February 26, 1923 in Clarion, PA to Wayne and Gwendolyn Showers.
The funeral for Mrs. Gilbert is Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Friendship United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Friendship United Methodist Church from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Dr. Calvin Havens III officiating. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her sons, Charles Gilbert of Michigan, Robert Gilbert and wife Betty of Michigan and Richard Gaines of Louisiana; daughter, Nancy Penley of Athens; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ocie Gilbert; sons, Randy Gilbert and Larry Showers.
Pallbearers are Roger Langowski, Kevin Buchheister, Devin Buchheister and Jimmy Lewis.
