Jean Anderson Sanders, 86, passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, in Huntsville. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at Scottsboro Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Calvin (Bud) Durham and Dr. Richard Bolan officiating. Burial will follow in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
She is survived by her sister, Dean Anderson Proctor, of Hollywood; brother, Howard (Rena) Anderson, of Chattanooga; children, Johnny (Valerie) Sanders, of Nashville, Marilyn (Dan) Beatty, of Huntsville, and Guy Sanders, of Madison; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, C.D. (Lawrence) Sanders; parents, Jim (Bo) and Maude Manderson; and a sister, Elsie (Nook) Vandenhuerk.
Lois F. Trousdale
Lois Fields Trousdale, 91, of Lexington, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at NHC Health Care in Moulton.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Lexington from noon-2 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., with Brother Jeff Cruse and Brother Jared Hood officiating. Burial will be in Pettus Cemetery. Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.
Mrs. Trousdale was the longest and oldest member of First Baptist Church of Lexington, where she served her Savior faithfully up until the time she went into the nursing home. She spent many years teaching children in school and at her home. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sorely missed.
Mrs. Trousdale was preceded in death by her husband, Buford F. Trousdale; grandson, Patrick Jordan Smith; parents, Louis Solomon and Zora Glover Fields; one sister; and five brothers.
Mrs. Trousdale is survived by her two daughters, Lou Ellen Smith (Jim) and Emily Dawn Waldrep (Rickey); six grandchildren, James Mark Smith (Nickie), Jessica Dawn Bankester (Brad), Jodie Reanna Hood (Jared), Jordan Rickey Waldrep (Allison), Benjamin Lawson Smith and Leslie Ann Smith (fiancé Kyle); eight great-grandchildren, LeAnn and Gloria Smith, Jacob, Jace, Julie Anna and Jackson Hood, Andy and Caroline Bankester.
Pallbearers will be Mark Smith, Jordan Waldrep, Brad Bankester, Tom Mauter, Ken Carter and Ronnie Sharp. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church of Lexington.
Special thanks to Mrs. Trousdale’s caregiver, Virginia McGee, Tom and Cheryl Mauter, the staff at NHC Nursing Home in Moulton, and her church family for all the love and care she was given.
