Janice Colvard – Obituary

Janice Colvard, 86, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully Saturday.  Janice was born in Gloucester, MA and graduated from Gloucester High School in 1950.  She worked for Planned Parenthood and then in the Parisians Hosiery Dept. for many years.
Janice loved gardening and was an active volunteer at the Greater Huntsville Humane Society and later, Spay Neuter Action Project (SNAP) and 305 8th Street as well as various church related charitable functions.  She loved playing Bridge, being a hostess and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William N. Lightizer and Evelyn Iola Lightizer; her sisters, Ann L. Lightizer, Jean B. Lightizer and her husband, Charles L. Colvard. Survivors include her children, Keith C. Colvard (wife Donna) of Navarre, FL and Diane C. Smith (husband Marc) of Huntsville and granddaughter Laura M. Callahan (husband Dan) of Myrtle Beach SC.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3rd, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4th  at First United Methodist Church.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
