Janice Binkley
February 12, 1945 – July 20, 2024
Janice passed away on July 20, 2024, at Centennial Hospital in Nashville following a several months long illness.
She was born in Nashville on February 12, 1945, to Ms. Ruby Frost. She had a sister Sheryl Buck and brother Richard Leach. Growing up in Nashville she met and married the love of her life Harold “Buddy” Binkley and together they raised a son Eric and daughter Tammy always surrounded by extended family.
Janice pursued a career in Nursing after caring for her terminally ill mother in her final days. With her children mostly raised she attended Tennessee State University in Nashville and obtained her nursing degree graduating with honors at the top of her class. When not caring for others, she enjoyed camping and fishing with her family and watching NASCAR with her beloved husband Buddy. She also enjoyed reunions with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved on them, as well as many “fur babies” over the years. She also was an “over the top” passionate fan of the Tennessee Titans.
She was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Frost, her sister Sheryl Buck and most recently her best friend, love of her life, and constant companion, her husband of 60 years Buddy Binkley.
She is survived by a loving family including her son Eric (Vicki) Binkley, her daughter Tammy (Scott) Tubandt, grandchildren Ashley Binkley & Tyler (Morgan) Binkley, great grandsons Landon Binkley and Brewer Binkley, brother Ricky (Debbie) Leach, sister in laws, Barbara (Ricky Snipes) Thompson, Janie Edwards, Jodie Stewart, as well as countless nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express its appreciation to the wonderful Doctors, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists and all the caregivers on the 5th Floor CCU at Centennial Hospital.
