Janet Sue Myers, age 77, of Russellville, passed away on
January 4, 2024.

Janet was a beloved wife and mother to her children. She was not just a great mother; she was THE greatest mother and also their best friend. She instilled down to earth morals and a wonderful work ethic, even though she has been known to kill a snowman….or two along the way. She was spoiled in that fact that everytime she entered a room, Roy Orbison’s “Pretty Woman” was sang just for her.

She was born in Harrisburg, Illinois in 1946 to Samuel and Edna Mae Ripperdan. She worked as a housekeeper at Terrace Manor Nursing and Rehab.

She is survived by her children, James Cook (Becky), Nathan Myers (Cindy), Paula Cook; grandchildren, Ryan Cook (Kaci), Aaron Cook, Hailey Cook, Kayla Cook (Luis Guerrero), Shawney Andres (Ruendy), Naomi Guseman, Amos Escobar, Danielle Ibarra (Bernado), Samual Guseman (Jessie Engle); siblings, Charles Ripperdan, Ruby White, Marsha Schenkel, Arnold Ripperdan; as well as other family members and friends whom will miss her.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Edna Ripperdan; Husbands, James Arnold Cook and Terry Lee Myers; brother, Phillip Ray Cook.

Visitation will be held at Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 2pm-4pm. The funeral service will follow at 4pm in the Chapel. Bro. Rex Loren Mayhall will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery, Harrisburg, Illinois. Bro Jerry Stepp will officiate the gravesite committal.
