Janet Marie Carrithers, 65 of Eupora, MS, passed with Leukemia the evening of April 23, 2025.
Janet was born in Eupora on September 26, 1958, to Carl Lee “Jack” Carrithers, Sr. and Mallie Etoyle Morelan Carrithers of Eupora, MS. She worked at Ability Works in Kilmichael, MS when she lived at the Kilmichael Group Home, until moving over to the Carrington Nursing Home in Starkville, MS.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, Carl Lee “Jack” Carrithers, Sr., her mother, Mallie Etoyle Morelan Carrithers, her baby brother, James Burton Carrithers, and her brother, Carl Lee “Junior” Carrithers, Jr. Janet is survived by her siblings, Judy Carla Carrithers McDougall (Richard) of Moss Point, MS, and George Michael “Mickey” Carrithers (Debbie) of Starkville, MS. Along with her many step brothers and sister, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends who all loved her dearly.
Janet was a very loving, caring and funny lady. She never met a stranger; She considered all her best of friends. She loved giving hugs all through her visits. She loved to play with the younger kids, and also enjoyed coloring, crafts, movies, puzzles, playing dominos with family and crossword puzzles. She could light up a room with just a look. Janet was very good at remembering birthdays, addresses and phone numbers.
She was a very loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will forever be missed.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 2:00-3:00 PM at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Eupora, MS.
Pallbearers are as follows: Ryan Carrithers, Scotty Carrithers, Taylor Carrithers, Kaleb Brown, Justin Brown, and David Morelan.
Honorary pallbearers are as follows: Richard McDougall, Michael Carrithers, Joey Carrithers, Trace Carrithers, Jarred Miley, and Holden Miley.
