Mrs. Janet Kay Graves Staggs was born May 14, 1951 in Waynesboro, TN to the union of her parents the late Mr. Walton Telford Graves and Mrs. Fannie Lou Howell Graves. Throughout her adolescent and formative years, she grew in the Waynesboro area attending school at Wayne County High in Waynesboro graduating with the class of 1969. After high school, Mrs. Janet would meet and marry her husband Mr. Larry Staggs and the two would wed on December 10, 1970 forever intertwining their hearts, lives and families. The two would remain happily married until the Lord would call him home on October 8, 2024.  She possessed a deep love for her family always caring for every need and many of the wants her husband and children might incur. She could always be depended upon making her the matriarchal backbone of the family. The very heart beat of their familial structure and the rock foundation upon which it stood. She was a passionate Christian as she was a devoted member of the Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro throughout the years led many others to Christ and directed their Christian paths as she worked diligently as a Sunday School Teacher educating and directing the lives of many children and those young in Christ.

Her occupational years were spent serving her community as she was a Deputy Clerk and Master for Wayne County, TN, in which capacity she would humbly and proudly serve for over 34 years.  Deeply rooted within the people of her community, she would also serve those less fortunate always searching for ways to serve others.

However, she held no other moments closest to her heart than the precious moments spent with her husband, children but especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include her sons Travis Staggs (wife Amanda) of Muscle Shoals, AL and Kevin Staggs (wife Jill) of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren Sawyer Staggs, Brayden Staggs, Shayna Kay Staggs and Sophie Staggs; great- grandchild Walker Farce Staggs, brother Richard Graves (wife Marcy) of Tallahassee, FL. as well as several nieces’ nephews, many other family members and friends.
