Jane Lizabeth Wesley passed away on December 17, 2023, at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville, Ala. The cause of death was double pneumonia and Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome. She was born Jane Howard Brown on September 22, 1955, in Eutaw, Ala., the third and youngest child of Joseph Allen Brown and Margaret McCracken Brown. She graduated from Tuscaloosa High School and attended Mount Vernon College, in Washington, D.C., and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where she earned a B.A. degree and later a master’s degree in Social Work. She was a highly-credentialed therapist who helped many of her patients over the years through the most difficult challenges of their lives. She also was a passionate cat-lover who rescued dozens of animals during her adult life.
No funeral or services are planned, as was her wish. Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to make a donation to the ASPCA.
