James Travis Winter – Obituary

James Travis Winter, 90, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House. He was born July 13, 1924, to the late Noah and Lorene Meredith Winter. He was a retired electrician and member of East Fulton Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Services will be at 10:30 a. m. Saturday, August 2, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Gary Smith and Bro. Grover Laird officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Masonic Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mildred Houston Winter, of Fulton; one son, Mike Winter (Peggy) of Tupelo; one sister, Noreen Turman (James) of Fulton; four grandchildren, Mike Winter II, Dawn Faucheux, Gwendolyn McNabb Bozeman, and Jennifer Nash; and great-grandchildren, Victoria, Emily, and James Winter; Matthew, Tyler, and Jon-Michael McNabb; and Megan, Donovan, and Amber Nash.

Pallbearers will be Mackie Thornton, Richard Houston, Mike Todd, Bill Cross, Bill Daughtery, and Gary Wallace.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Friday, August 1, at the funeral home.
