James “Sonny” Edward Hodges 77, of Elkmont,AL died Saturday, June 15, 2019 at home. He was a member at Holland’s Gin Church of Christ. He owned and operated Hodges Farm and Hodges Fireworks & Produce. Sonny was a loving man to his family, friends, and animals.
Born Tuesday, October 21, 1941 in Elkmont, AL, he was the son to the late Robert Clifton Hodges and Rebecca Wales Hodges.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Hodges, Elkmont, AL; son, James Byron Hodges (Romona),Athens, AL; daughters, Kathy Shores (Eddie), Elkmont, AL, daughter, Teresa Alexander (Mike), Elkmont, AL, daughter, Angie Thompson (Al), Ardmore, AL, daughter, Christy Lassie (Bobby), Athens, AL; twelve grandchildren, Brennen Shores, Kevin Watkins, Jacob Shores, Lacey Hodges, Kayla Nave, Candace Hodges, Hannah Crabtree, Kelsey Hodges, Nick Thompson, Dakota McCurley, Hunter Alexander, and Mahaley Lassie; twelve great-grandchildren; aunt, Evelyn Maddox, Elkmont, AL; and a host of friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, at 2:00 PM with Bro. Collier Ralley officiating. Burial will be in Hodges Cemetery, Elkmont, AL. Pallbearers will be Lynn Ballew, Mark Smith, Tommy Daly, Deryl Haggard, Brandon Ivey, and Sam Biggerstaff.
