Funeral service for James Russell Lowery, age 85, of Decatur will be Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jackie Kay and Dr. Craig Carlisle officiating. The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Lowery, who died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at his residence, was born September 27, 1927, in Lawrence County to Dennis Floyd Lowery and Lilly Mae Royer Lowery. He was a member of Central Park Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dale Lowery.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Reed (Linda) of Decatur; one daughter, Wanda Hinz (Ken) of Decatur; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
