James Roy Rogers, 68, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Iuka Hospital. He was a native of Mississippi and a construction worker.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, Ms. with Bro. Bobby Capps officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Golden, Ms. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are four children – Shelley Green (Tony) Smithville, Ms., Tammy Searcy (Joe) Cherokee, Al., Jesse Rogers (Sandy) Iuka, Ms. and Julie Johnston (Charles) Tupelo, Ms.; his mother – Jewel Rogers, Dennis, Ms.; two brothers – Murrel Rogers and Gerald Rogers; ten grandchildren – Michelle Peoples, Beth Rogers, Abby Clayton, Brody Clayton, Jesse Johnston, Elliot Johnston, Philip Johnston, Clara Green, Chloe Clayton and Taylor Searcy; four great-grandchildren – Brielle Peoples, Bailah Rogers, Brayden Johnston and Abigail Johnston and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Arvil Rogers and a brother, Glen Rogers.
Pallbearers will be Tony Green, Joe Searcy, Charles Johnston, Brody Clayton, Jesse Johnston, Jesse Rogers, Craig Rogers, Phillip Kendrick and Elliot Johnston.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. and until service time on Wednesday.
