James Robert “J.R.” Spencer, 73, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at ECM Hospital. He was born August 14, 1939 in Alabama. He was a pilot and a veteran of the US Army.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 3, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Bobby Massey officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his son-Mike Spencer (Melissa Dawn) of Hernando, MS; one sister-Barbara Kennedy of Belmont; two brothers-Charles Spencer of Vina and David Spencer of South Carolina; nieces and nephews-Sarah Nichols, Edward Spencer, James Spencer, Anthony Spencer and Candi Wright.
He was preceded in death by his parents-Rev. Robert Jerome and Bessie King Spencer and one brother-Danny Spencer.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday, December 2, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. and until service time on Monday.
