James R. Kizziah, 74 of Dora, passed away on August 31, 2023. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at New Horizon Chapel at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour before service time. Burial will follow in West Jefferson Freewill Cemetery.
Mr. Kizziah served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Army Artillery in the Vietnam War and was Honorably discharged with a Purple Heart. He was a coal miner having worked in Maxine Mines Mary Lee #2. He enjoyed BBQ, spending time on the river, and spoiling his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Charlotte Kizziah, sisters Peggy (Troy) Ford, Trish (Wade) Nicholas, brother Gary (Tina) Kizziah, nephews Michael Ford, Jason Kizziah, Garrett Kizziah, Shane (Leslie) Marquis, Wade (Toni) Kizziah, nieces Angie (Ricky) Grantham, Sonya Ford and several great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents James and Bertie Kizziah.
