James “R. D.” Faulkner – Obituary

James-J-D-Faulkner-1425649074James “R. D.” Faulkner, 89, of Florence passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Bro. Jerry Hastings officiating. The burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Faulkner was a native of Hardin County, TN but resided in Florence, for most of his life. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired from Monarch Tile, where he was a machine operator; he also was a cattle farmer and loved gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Fronie Faulkner; sisters, Gertrude Faulkner, Marie Dodd, Kate Simmons and Winnie Balentine.

He is survived by sister, Elzora Faulkner as – well – as a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael Borden, Joe Haddock, Charlie Haddock, Barry Broadfoot, Marvin Whisenant and Ray Angel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty Lack, Charles Winters, Buster Thornton and John Sandy.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses at Glenwood Nursing and Rehab, as – well – as Dr. Hobbs and staff.
