Funeral services will be held Sunday December 2, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Jerome Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday December 2, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Eakin is survived by his son, James Wyatt Eakin of Scottsboro; grandchildren, Mariana Faith and Grayson Cole Eakin of Bridgeport; mother, Barbara Brandon Eakin of Scottsboro; sisters, Sheila Eakin Tapley of Madison and Terri Eakin Cornelison (Michael Letson) of Scottsboro; nephews, Patrick Tapley and family of Scottsboro, Cody Tapley and family of Auburn, Kyle Cornelison and Lucas Letson of Scottsboro; nieces, Callie Cornelison of Arkansas and Taylor Cornelison of Scottsboro; special friend and girls, Nicole Griffin, Savana Eakin, and Daisy Eakin of Scottsboro; step sons, Justin and Jordan Whitehead; aunts; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Whitehead Eakin; father, James Kenneth Eakin; maternal grandparents, John H. and Helen Brandon; and paternal grandmother, Eva Lou Eakin.
“Blue” was very passionate about racing and horses, great love for his only son, and spending time with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. It is with great sadness to know that he was taken at the hands of another, but we take comfort in knowing that he found his Savior and was baptized.
