James Loyd Brooks, 65, of Moulton, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Chris Godbee officiating.
Born on November 25, 1952, to the late Howard and Evie Jane Davis Brooks, Loyd was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Brooks; son, Johnny McCutcheon (Andrea); daughter, Jennifer McCutcheon; brother, Danny Brooks (Vickie); sisters, Hilda Smith and DaJuana Childers (Randy); and six grandchildren, Cliff McCutcheon, Lila McCutcheon, Katy McCutcheon, Noah Evans, Jonah Evans and Eli Evans. Loyd is also survived by his fur babies, four dogs and four cats.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smyrna Baptist Church or Changing 42 Animal Rescue.
