James Lee Garner, 83, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Belmont, MS and worked as a welder at HEIL in Tishomingo for many years. He was of the Baptist Faith.
A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday at Belmont City Cemetery with Phillip Pharr officiating. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Garner; daughter, Michelle Garner (Daniel Smith); granddaughter, Lindsey Hollingsworth (TK); two great-granddaughters, Evie and Mila Hollingsworth; two brothers, Edwin Pharr and Wayne Garner (Jamie) and one sister, Phyllis Garner.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Wassman (Joe); his father, Leroy Garner; daughter, Myra Pharr; grandson, Dustin Pharr and step-father, Holland Pharr.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Smith, Ricky Lindsey, Rodney Lindsey and Phillip Pharr.
