James Larry Taylor, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the age of 70. His visitation will be Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. David Gregg officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
James was a native of Lincoln County, TN and a member of IBEW 558 for 48 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie S. and Ruth B. Taylor, both of Florence, AL. James was a loving husband to his wife Peggy of 48 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.
His survivors include his wife, Peggy Taylor of Tuscumbia; daughter, Kiristie Gray and her husband, Mickey, and children, Nick, Mackaya, and Mackenzie; brother, Terry Taylor and wife Helen, of Tuscumbia; aunt, Mabel Counts of Tennessee; and numerous loving cousins.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Gray, Terry Taylor and friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his wonderful team of doctors: Dr. Kenneth Rose and the Northwest Alabama Cancer Center, and to Amedysis Hospice. Rosalie Gilbert, Sherry James, and Teresa Box were wonderful and cherished care givers. Deann Gleghorn was a special and loving cousin and friend.
