James Larry Sherrill, 93, of Cherokee, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, July 1st from 10:00 to 11:00 at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Ben Hayes officiating. Interment will be at Mynot Cemetery, Cherokee.
Larry was a native of Mynot Community and a member of Highland Park Church of Christ. He was a medic in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was the hardware department manager at Sears where he worked for 35+ years. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Sherrill; and parents, Oscar and Ova Mae Sherrill.
He is survived by his son Mark Sherrill (Mary); sister, Barbara Cecil; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Morris Calloway, Jim Belue, and Claude Karr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mynot Cemetery Fund.
