Funeral service for Mr. James Hobson Corum, age 88, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, September 16, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Berry officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Corum, who died Saturday, September 13, 2014, at River City Center, was born April 10, 1926, in Lawrence County to George Corum and Carrie Harris Corum. He was a U. S. Navy veteran, and worked in environmental services for the city school system.
He is survived by two stepsons, Odis Walden and wife, Mary, of Decatur, and Roger Walden of Athens; one stepdaughter, Sheila Sparkman of Hartselle; and two sisters, Rachel Wilson and Janie Brakeman, both of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Rickey Corum, Justin Seals, Keith Brakeman, Alex Brakeman, Jonathon Walden, and Andy Walden.
