James Heffernan Avery, 74, of Huntsville passed away Tuesday at his residence. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam and retired from Boeing Computer Support Services. He was preceded in death by his son: Denis James Avery; his father: Rev. E.W. Avery; his mother: Hazel Avery and one sister: Betty Brockway. Survivors include his wife: Charita Avery; two brothers: Charles Avery and Bobby Avery; three nephews, one niece and nine great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by a Chapel service at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Bobby Burt officiating. Burial will follow in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
