James Harce McCalpin, 86, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born in Franklin County, AL to Jim and Lena Bell Humphres McCalpin. He worked as an electrician for Sunshine Homes and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Vina, AL.
Services will be Friday, March 12, 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Bro. Matthew Haney and Bro. Loyd Ray Griffus officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Jeanette McCalpin; two daughters, Debra McCutcheon (Gilbert) and Lisa Young (Wally); four grandchildren, Adam White (Erin), Meleana Crossman, Clara Duggan (Brad) and Isabella Young; two great-grandhildren, Addi White and Ella Crossman; one brother, Harlie McCalpin and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Adam White, Brad Duggan, Mike Griffus, Keith Seahorn, Terry Hardin and Steve Stringfellow.
Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
