James “Floyd” Drake – Obituary

James “Floyd” Drake, 84, Huntsville, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015. He grew up in Lincoln Village and graduated from Lincoln School. He worked for Genesco for 49 years before retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leamon and Elsie Mae Drake; sister, Dorothy Valerio; brothers, Charles, Billy, and Eugene Drake. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Adcock Drake; three daughters, Pam Reynolds of Huntsville, Judy Tucker (Brooks) of Huntsville, Sherry Rehfeld (Ross) of Florida; son, Eddie Drake of Fulton, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Brande, Emily, Jennifer, Olivia, Peyton, and Abby; four great-grandchildren, Sam, Madeline, Mallory and Syndey; three brothers, Marvin Drake (Beverly) of Huntsville, Erskine Drake (Patsy) of Hazel Green, Vernon Drake (Marty) of Birmingham; a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 2 at Berryhill Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a 12:30 graveside service at Maple Hill Cemetery. Rev. Erskine Drake will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital or the Wounded Warriors Project. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
