Remembering James Edward Staton

James Edward Staton (Jim Ed) went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 5, 2026. Born in Paris, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Doyle and Eulema Staton. Jim Ed made his home in Leoma, Tennessee, where he was surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his devoted wife, Darlene Staton, who faithfully stood by his side.

Career

Jim Ed worked for General Motors, which brought him from Lee’s Summit Missouri to New York, and later to the Saturn plant in Tennessee, where he retired after many years of dedicated service.

Family and Legacy

Jim Ed is also survived by his sister, Brenda Hughes, and her husband Bobby, along with their children David and Staci. His legacy continues through his four children: Brandon Staton (Stephanie) of Dayton, Ohio; Joanne Staton (Christal) of Beacon, New York; DeAnna Staton of Nashville, Tennessee; and Blake Staton (Julie) of Rochester, New York. He was a proud grandfather to Bethany Bryant (Jake), Caleb Staton (Eleanna), Abigail Staton (Yoni), Lydia Beverly (Jordan), Susanna Staton, Rebekah Staton, Gabrielle Staton, Charity Staton, Jesse Staton, Jade Kapp (Brendan), Liesl Staton, and a cherished great grandson, Jameson.
Jim Ed was also predeceased by his first wife, Carol Staton.

A Legacy of Love and Faith

Jim Ed will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his kindness, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, faith, and dedication that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Mr. Staton will have visitation on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Loretto Memorial Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 10:00 am at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gordon officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Burial to follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens in Franklin, TN.
