James Edward Russell, 84, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Burns Nursing Home, Russellville, Alabama. A native of Franklin County, Alabama, he was a member of Isbell First Methodist Church and was retired from Reynolds Metals. A veteran, he also served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Visitation for Mr. Russell will be Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Services will begin at 1:00 P.M. with
Ronnie Morrow and Jimmy Murphree officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville.
Mr. Russell is survived by his two sons: Alan Keith Russell, and James Phillip Russell “Snowball” and his wife Brenda. He also has two sisters: Martha Vandiver and husband John, and Margaret Wiles. One grandchild, Christie Ford, and one great grandchild, Christopher, also survive him as do nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Patricia “Patsy” Ann Laster Russell; parents, Floyd and Missouri Taylor Russell; and two brothers, Adrien and Carl Russell.
Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
