James Edward Bunch, 81 of Arab passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at his residence. He was born May 5, 1944, the son of Wiley Owen Bunch and Lillian Elizabeth Artis Bunch. He served his country with honor and courage in the US Army National Guard. Jim retired from Redstone Arsenal as a Communication Technician.
He is survived by his wife: Regina Layne Bunch; children: Dennis Bunch and Tonya Flack; grandchildren: Landon Flack and Fischer Flack; stepchildren: Jonathan Berry, Jared Berry and Breanna (Shane) Kimbrough; thirteen step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren; sister: Sandra (Jackie) Hodges; brothers: Joe Bunch and J.W. (Lynn) Bunch; special friend: Freeman Pinky; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Lavon Bunch, Charles Bunch, Kenneth Bunch and Robert Bunch.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Steve Layne and Jacob Howell officiating. The burial will be in Union Grove 1st Baptist Church Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
