Christopher Gunter Watkins, 33 of Dora, passed away Wednesday February 18, 2026.
Gunter was the “Best dad in the world”. A man who loved with all his heart, and who could always be depended on. He was employed at Hendrick Automotive. Among the many joys of his life were, Tennessee Vols football, Seattle Seahawks football and Birmingham Legion soccer. He was also a big NASCAR fan.
Funeral services will be Sunday Feb. 22, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Dora First Baptist Church. Pastor Zac Bozeman will officiate. Burial will follow at Shanghi Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 1:30-3 pm at the church.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Sandy Watkins; his grandparents, R.L Ray and R.T. Watkins, Jr. and his aunt, Jackie Davidson.
Survivors include his son, Deklan Ryder Watkins; his father, Christopher Watkins and wife Ging Ging; sister, Shelby Watkins; grandparents, Earl and Joyce Criswell and Cheryl Ray; uncles and aunts, Todd Davidson, Crystal and John Dillard and Cindy and Larry Langer; niece, Willow, and cousins, Owen and Raylee; along with several other relatives and many friends.
