Bro. James Earl Wilson, 76, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit surrounded by his wife and loving family. He was born May 7, 1939, to Elijah C. Wilson and Ida Mae Grant Wilson. He pastored churches throughout Mississippi for 41 years. He also held numerous revivals throughout Mississippi and Alabama. He was trustee of the Mississippi Department of the Mississippi Baptist Children’s home for many years. He also served as moderator for the Harmony Association for many years. He was 32nd Degree Mason. His hobbies were carpentry, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. He was currently serving as pastor of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, which he helped establish in 2007.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Frank Panzrino and Bro. Rayburn Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Olive Cemetery north of Tremont.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Louise Chandler Wilson; one son, Tony Wilson (Susan); one daughter, Angie Palmer (Adam), all of Fulton; one brother, J.D. “Jiggs” Wilson (Mildred) of Fulton; two sisters, Louise Grimes and Phyllis Pitts (Wayne), both of Fulton; one brother-in-law, Sylvan Jones of Fulton; one sister-in-law, Bernice Wilson of Tremont; four grandchildren, Hannah Burns (Jonathon), Tori Palmer, Tyler Wilson, and Gage Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Pete Wilson and Bill Wilson; three sisters, Josephine Morris, Ruth Jones, and Mae Evelyn Sheffield; and ten half-brothers and half-sisters.

Pallbearers will be the deacons and men of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be fellow ministers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at the funeral home
