James E. Johnson, 82 of Guntersville, AL was surrounded by the love of his family when he was called home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, December 3, 2020. James was a kind and generous soul and will always be remembered warmly by the countless lives he touched along the way.
He enjoyed traveling and adventuring. James was a wonderful and caring family man, and was always first to volunteer a helping hand to those in need. A proud military veteran, he bravely served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. James was a highly skilled entrepreneur who worked in a variety of businesses; Real estate and homebuilding being two of the jobs he enjoyed most. He made many lifelong friends across of the country His family is so very grateful for his contributions to our lives and for the love and memories that we carry with us in his absence.
Mr. Johnson is survived by Children: Alan Johnson of Semmes, AL, DeWayne Johnson of Monroe, LA, Carey Johnson of Harare Zimbabwe and Wade Johnson of Newnan GA. Brother W.A. Johnson; Grandchildren: Anya Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Dahlia Johnson and Ashton Johnson. He is preceded in death by parents; Earl and Dorothy Johnson, Siblings; Louise Foshee and Ella Pierce.
A small graveside service will be at 12:30pm Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Douglas Cemetery with visitation at the Albertville Memorial Chapel from 11 until 12. James will be buried next to his sister and parents in his hometown of Douglas, AL.
