James “Dub” Brewer – Obituary

Mr. James “Dub” Brewer, 88, of Florence, passed away Friday September 14, 2012, at his residence.  Visitation will be 10:30am until 11:30am Sunday September 16, 2012 at Greenview Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 12 noon in Florence City Cemetery.  His grandson, Clay Rikard will officiate.

Dub was a native of Lauderdale Co., a 65 year member of Carpenter’s Local #1209 and served in the US Navy during WWII.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Edith Muriel Brewer, son, James Ray Brewer, grandson, Jeff King and great-grandson, Eli Bratton.  Survivors are his son, Robert Thornton (Cindy), Daughters, Faye King (Roy), Janice Cossey (Ken), and Jackie Keenum (Talmage); sister, Pauline Collum; grandchildren, Dian King, Samantha Reynolds, Kenny Wayne Cossey, Clay Rikard, Kelli Bratton, and James Ray Brewer, Jr.; numerous great and great-greatgrandchildren; sister-in-law, Totsie Lowe; and his faithful dog, Jill.

Pallbearers will be Clay Rikard, Jason Tillman, Ben Burnett, Andy Reynolds, Rantz Reynolds and C. J. Tussey.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Robert Mann and Hospice of the Shoals for their care of Mr. Brewer.
