James Dean Stines, age 63 of Belvidere, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro. He was born March 13, 1958 in Franklin County to the late James William Stines and Mary Elizabeth Durham Stines. He was a 1976 graduate of Franklin County High School and served for several years on the Franklin County Rescue Squad. Dean was the owner of Dean Stines Construction and also enjoyed woodworking and horseback riding in his spare time. He was a member of Fayetteville Church of God. He loved listening to praise and worship music and spending quality time with his family. His favorite place to be was the cabin, where he enjoyed hunting and sitting on the front porch. Dean’s family and friends will remember how he loved to play practical jokes on them to get a good laugh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jonathan Stines. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Vickie Stines of Belvidere; children. Chris (Alisha) Stines of Belvidere, Heather (Kyle) Trussell of Winchester; stepchildren, Tyler Broadbent of Winchester, Rachael Broadbent of Murfreesboro, Austin Broadbent of Winchester, Brittany Broadbent of Sherwood and Blake Broadbent of Winchester; grandchildren, Sadie and Sawyer Stines; God-grandchild, Grayson Brewer; brother, Allen (Elizabeth) Stines of Belvidere; sisters, Kathy (Larry) Smith of Winchester, Marilyn (Mike) Champion of Winchester and Evelyn (Doyle) Finney of Winchester; nieces, Cindy (Blake) Stewart, Kim (Jay) Ballard and Heatherly Stines; 2 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Friday, October 1, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Wood and Bro. Daniel Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Blake Stewart, Will Stewart, Logan Stines, Mike Champion, Doyle Finney and Johnny Steele will be serving as pallbearers.
