James David Burns, Jr. 59, of Florence, AL. passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013. His visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2013 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. His funeral service will be Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Glendale Church of Christ, at 10 am with Joel Caudle officiating. He will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Bumpus Creek Cemetery, Waterloo, AL.
Mr. Burns was a native of Florence, AL. He was a member of Glendale Church of Christ and was a loving husband, father, son, and brother.
Survivors include, father, James David Burns, Sr. and mother, Betty of Florence; sister, Mitzy Neal and husband Kenneth, of Florence; daughters, Nickie Killian and husband Stephen, of Decatur, Ellen Goodman and husband Greg, of Florence, Jamie Holbrook and husband David, of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Abbie, Ethan, and Noah.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joanie Elizabeth Burns, and grandparents, Leo and Clara Burns, and Ross and Deedy Harrison, all of Florence.
Pallbearers will be David Creasy, Paul Parrish, Dennis Brown, Derek Stracener, Stephen Killian, and David Holbrook.
