Helen Virginia Murphy, 87, of Cherokee, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Visitation will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. Funeral Service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Perry Murphy and R.C. Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Asphalt Rock Cemetery.
Helen was a native of Boston and a member of Asphalt Rock Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by son, Danny Murphy; and husband, Edgar Aaron Murphy.
She is survived by her sons: Steve Murphy, and wife Deanie; and Eddie Murphy, and wife Kathy; daughter, Gloria Zigman, and husband Jim. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
