James Allen Cox, Sr. , 84 of Columbus, Georgia, son of Herbert and Hellen Robertson Cox, passed away on November 25, 2023.
He is survived by his son, James A. Cox Jr; grandson, James A. Cox III; brother, Mick Cox; sisters, Lois Forde and Terri Rau.
James was born in Yankeetown, Indiana and graduated from South High School in Columbus, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961. James graduated from computer programming school in Huntsville, Alabama, were he also worked on high pressure valve systems for NASA. He worked for Royal Crown Cola from 1971-1992 and Blue Cross Blue Shield from 1992-2002 where he retired. James married Patricia Acklin in Huntsville in 1964.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Berryhill Funeral Home from 12:00 to 2:30 PM. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at Maple Hill Cemetery.
