James A. Jaco, age 89, of Leoma, TN passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at his residence. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, retired superintendent from Murray Ohio Mfg., and a member of OK Baptist Church. He was a former Lawrence County Commissioner, and also a member of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club and The Gideons International. Mr. Jaco served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Waymon and Tressie Pearl McClain Jaco; his first wife, Glenna Wimbs Jaco; his second wife, Shirley Dean Purser Jaco; his third wife, Shirley Williams Jaco; one son, Faron Lee Jaco; and one sister, Irene Misenhimer.

He is survived by three daughters, Becky Hood of Leoma, TN, Mary Joyce Hermanson of Leoma, TN, and Donna Cothren (Randy) of Lawrenceburg, TN; four sisters, Carol Belew, Joyce Berryhill, Lois Smith, and Brenda Vogel, all of Lawrenceburg, TN; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2026, with Brandon Smith and Reggie Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
