James A. Brown died peacefully at his Beech Bluff resident on Thursday, May 26 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 66.
He was born on June 16, 1955, in Jackson, TN the son of the late Grady H. and Judith A. Ross Brown. Jim was a self-employed Commercial General Contractor “that just loved to build thing” according to his family. He always had a project going and was good at giving orders. Jim was a loving husband and best friend to his wife. He enjoyed watching westerns especially Gunsmoke, fishing and driving his tractor on the farm. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN and attended Beech Bluff United Methodist Church. He was passionate about reading his Bible and showing his faith.
He is survived by his wife Betty Roberts Brown of Beech Bluff, TN; Children, John T. Brown (Kathryn) of Bartlett, TN; Janet M. Cain (Jason) of Memphis, TN, Shonda Brown (Jason) of Humboldt, TN and Reisha Willis (Duane) of Franklin, TN; his sister Catherine (Katie) Gentry (Charles) of Jackson, TN and his brother Thomas L. Brown (Robin) of North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Sarah White (Blair), Maleah Jones, Jase Brown, Jackson Brown, Brody Willis, Ava Brown and Emma Willis and one great grandchild, Harrison White.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Beech Bluff United Methodist Church with Rev. Walter German and Rev. Harry DeLoach officiating. He will be laid to rest in Beech Bluff Cemetery following the service.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors and on Sunday, May 29, 2022, from 1:00 PM until the service at the church.
