Jackie Preston Bean, 87 of Dora, passed away Monday June 5, 2023 at his home.
Visitation for Jackie Preston Bean will be Friday, June 9th from 12:00-2:00PM at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora, Alabama . Funeral services immediately following visitation. Interment will follow at Midway Methodist Cemetery in Adamsville, Alabama.
Jack was born in Sandusky, Alabama on February 20, 1936. He is a graduate of Minor High School class of 1954. He retired from American Cast Iron Pipe Company after 37 years of service. He was a Christian man who loved the Lord and served as chairman of Deacons in his church for many years. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle and supporting his children and grandchildren through all of their sports activities. He was a big supporter of Bagley and Corner High School activities.
Jack is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sarah Thomas Bean, four children, Jackie Golden (Tommy), Jan Carlisle (Bert), Joan Thomason (Tim), Stephen Bean and one brother, Donald Ray Bean (Helen).
He has 10 grandchildren, Jason, Kristin, Ryan, Johnathan, Jessica, Jennifer, Felicia, Heather, Chris and Austin, and 26 great grandchildren; a host of loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Grady and Edna Quinn Bean, brothers Linton, Desley, and Herschel, sisters Chrystene Poss and Sarah Walker.
He was a loving and caring father, grandfather andfriend, affectionately referred to as Pop by most who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
