Jack-Pettit-1468786906Jack Pettit, 81 of Union Grove Alabama, died Saturday July 16, 2016 at Highland Medical Center in Scottsboro Alabama.
Mr. Pettit was born April 4, 1935 in DeKalb County to Tom Aaron Pettit and Myrtle Emily McCurley Pettit. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked in assembly and production in the manufacturing industry. His wife, Betty Malone Pettit preceded him in death in November 1999. He had lived in the Union Grove area for 16 years, moving there from Boaz.
Mr. Pettit was a member of First Baptist Church Union Grove.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Aaron and Viviana Pettit; daughter and son-in-law: Becky and David Smith; grandchildren: Jessica and Andrew Hicks, Chase Smith, Josh Pettit, Lateshia and Major Gwathney, Chasity Pettit, Esteban Pettit, Sebestian Pettit; five great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren and a sister: Jill Hernandez.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brother Greg Narrell officiating. Burial will be in New Life Christian Center Cemetery in Boaz Alabama. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Chase Smith, Andrew Hicks, Gary Wiseman, Tim Wiseman, David Johnson and Ernie Wiseman.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday July 19, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
