Jack Don Lokey Sr Jack Don Lokey, Sr., age 96, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February
6, 2026. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Shelton
Funeral Home in Decatur, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel. A
private burial will follow.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Simpson Burke, and his son, Jack Don
Lokey, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Virginia Lott Lokey; his son,
Robert Lokey (Melinda); his daughter, Suzanne Garrett (Hugh); his daughter-in-law,
Belinda Lokey; and his grandchildren: Laura Flippo (John), April Adams (Jerrod), Mason
Garrett (Katelyn), and Hunter Garrett (Katelyn). Jack also leaves behind his great-
grandchildren: Layla and Phillip Adams, Lindell and Jack Flippo, Valerie, Maddie, and
Ellie Garrett, and Mara Jane, Hillman, and Uli Garrett.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lokey, Hugh Garrett, Johnny Lott, Zachary Lott, Jerrod
Adams, and John Flippo.

Jack was the proud owner of Mary Burke Florist, serving the Decatur community for
over 75 years. Through his artistry in floral design, he touched the lives of countless
individuals, creating arrangements for weddings, funerals, and celebrations alike. His
passions extended beyond the flower shop — he was an avid beekeeper and took great
pride in his flourishing blueberry patch, a treasured legacy for his family. Above all, Jack
will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose
kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
