Izella Sartin LandfordIzella Sartin Lanford, age 94, of Tuscumbia, passed peacefully at her residence, on Monday, November 04, 2024.
She was a devout Christian, and a devoted and active member of Crooked Oak Baptist Church for the last 55 years. She was the 2nd oldest of twelve children. She had always worked hard, loved working in the flowers and her garden. She enjoyed canning the fruits of her labor. Her favorite past times were quilting and embroidery and in the last few years, sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds. She would give you the shirt off her back, and always wanted you to have something to eat when you visited her. The family will remember the moments of “Watch This”.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, A.D. Wright and Robert W. Lanford; special daughter-in-law, Maryee Whitley; parents, Claude & Dorothy Sartin; brothers, Calvin Sartin, Alvis Sartin, Kenneth Sartin, Paul Sartin, Bobby Sartin, Infant brother Gerald Sartin; and children of the heart, Robert “Bob” Lanford (wife, Dorothy), Janice Lanford Rogers, Mike Lanford, Travis Wright, and Eunell Wright Putnam.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Sanders Wayne Whitley, Carol Wright Bolton (Gary); daughter of the heart, Wanda Winkelmann (Glenn); grandchildren, Matthew Bolton, Zachary Bolton (Brooke) Abby Bolton Wade (Joseph), Damian Whitley, Calisto Whitley, Leon Lanford, Bryan Lanford (Selena), Melissa Thrasher (Jimmy), Jeremy Winkelmann, Joseph Winkelmann, Andrew Castile (Katheryn); step-grandchildren, Butch Wright (Patty), Tim Wright; great-grandchildren, Jayce & Grayson Bolton, Madeline Zella & Olivia Wade, Kaitlin Hamm, Kaley & Michael Winkelmann, Skylar, Nichole, MaCayla Castile, Hunter Lanford (AnnaLisa), Marissa Lanford, Cassondra Burbank; great-great-grandchildren, Elijah Lanford, Baby Lanford soon to arrive, and Addie & Liam Burbank. She is also survived by her sisters, Vada Rich, Hazel Carlton (Red), Mary VanAllman, Geraldine Phillips (Jerry Wayne); brother, Cecil Sartin (Hattie); and a host of nieces & nephews.
The visitation will be 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 07, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville. The service will be at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Eddie Wix officiating the service. The burial will be at Piney Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Matthew Bolton, Zach Bolton, Joseph Wade, Joseph Winkelmann, Jeremy Winkelmann, Bryan Lanford, and Leon Lanford. The honorary pallbearer will be Damian Whitley.
The family would like to extend a sincere heartfelt thanks to the nurses, chaplain, and staff of Amedisys Hospice, also to Beverly Lindsey and Dana Argo for the love and care you have shown to our mother and our family. Also, we want to thank the Locust Shore Fire Department for your many times aiding in lift assist.
