Iona Lee Reynolds King was born December 12, 1946 in McMinnville, Tennessee and died December 11, 2025 at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

 

She was the daughter of the late Roy L. Reynolds and Janie Addelene McClain Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Philip Reynolds.

 

Iona graduated from McMinnville Central High School in 1964 and received a two year business degree from Middle Tennessee State College. She worked as a material specialist at Carrier Corporation for over 30 years before her retirement.

 

Mrs. King was a member of Bybee Branch church of Christ, having served there as a Sunday School teacher of 4 and 5 year olds and also at East End church of Christ for over 50 years.

 

She was a member of many community organizations: Just Friends, the Senior Center, a volunteer at Willow Branch and NHC nursing homes, and the Warren County Fair where she served on the fair board, in the canning department, and organized and displayed the O’Neal Cabin for many years. Iona was an avid crafter whose handmade goods were given as gifts to many people.

 

Mrs. King is survived by her husband, David. They were married on January 14, 1996. She is also survived by sister, Phyllis E. Reynolds of Cookeville, a brother, Frank M. Reynolds (Sharon) of McMinnville, a special first cousin, Nancy Helton (Steven), niece, Beth Delk (Craig), nephew, Joseph Reynolds, niece, Amy Eldridge (Andrew) and nephew, William “Burt” Reynolds. Her great nieces also survive: Rachel and Margaret Delk and second cousins Christopher, Kristin, Steven and Lindsey. A host of other family, friends and relatives survive.

 

Visitation will be held at McMinnville Funeral Home on Monday, December 15 from 3pm to 7pm.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 16 at 1 pm with Tony Lawrence, Derrick Stiles and Carson Rust officiating. Visitation before the funeral will be held Tuesday morning from 11 until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Chris Helton, Steven Helton, Jacob Smith, Joseph Reynolds, Carson Rust and Craig Delk.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nursing Home Christmas at Willow Brook or NHC.
