LAUDERDALE COUNTY – Lauderdale County Chief Deputy Richard Richey told sources he’s not sure as to the reason why Jeff Wilson shot the men. But he’s sure that he did it.
This all went down Wednesday night in St. Florian. About 10:30pm, Carl Joseph Eckl, 54, 299 Salzburg Lane, and Richard James Mayne, 54, of the same address, were shot while sitting in their place having a few drinks with Wilson. According to Deputy Richy, everything was going OK for a time, but something happened that caused Wilson to go over to his house next door a bring back a shotgun. The report says that Eckl took a hit in the stomach and in his hand. Mayne fired off a couple of rounds from a .22, and in return got hit in his head.
The gunshot victims are still hospitalized.
The incident remains under investigation. As of this writing, no arrests have been made.
