Investigation Into Fatal Shooting In Madison County Results In Arrest Of Suspect On Capital Murder Charges

MADISON COUNTY-On July 2, 2024, detectives with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit conducted an investigation into a shooting that occurred in the 100 block of Swancott Road. Unfortunately, the victim, Jonathan Parcus, succumbed to his injuries sustained during the shooting after being transported by medical personnel.

Through diligent investigative efforts, Sheriff’s detectives identified the suspect as Renardo May, 43. With the cooperation

of local, federal, and state agencies, Renardo May was apprehended in the State of Michigan, where he is currently being held pending extradition to Madison County.

Renardo May has been charged with Capital Murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Jonathan Parcus. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit will continue to work tirelessly to gather evidence and build a strong case against the suspect.
