Graveside service for Ingrid Elizabeth Currin, age 81, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens, in the Garden of Honor. Dr. Jon Hathcock will officiate.

Ingrid was born on February 14, 1941, in Germany. In 1958, she married an American soldier and moved to the USA in 1959 with her newborn son, leaving her family behind. America then became her favorite home. She was a retired floral designer, an artist, and a great cook. Ingrid loved to travel, and her favorite trips were abroad to visit her family in Germany. Her sense of humor was infectious and made the hard days more bearable. Ingrid passed away on August 24, 2022, with her family by her side.

Survivors include her sons, Donnie (Rhonda) Currin, Rick (Theresa) Currin, and Steve “Fred” (Penny) Currin; grandchildren, Thomas (Hanna) Currin, Alisha (Chris) Dunnavant, Travis (Kelsey) Currin, Kayla Currin (Tareq Hindiyeh), Stefanie (Joey) Worden, Elizabeth Currin, Ritchie Conner, and Justice Conner; 13 great-grandchildren; and a beloved dog, Daisy. Ingrid was preceded in death by her parents, Georg and Elizabeth Kohl; and longtime partner, Tom Harris.

Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM until 2 PM on Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 1718 Pulaski Highway, Fayetteville, TN 37334.
