Ila Hoffer Dexter – Obituary

Funeral service for Ila Hoffer Dexter, 98, of Decatur will be Friday, July 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. at City View Funeral Home in Salem, Oregon, with the Reverend Mark Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in City View Cemetery.

Ila passed away on June 30, 2013, at her residence. She was born March 22, 1915, in Stayton, Oregon, to the late Clyde and Stella Dunagan Hoffer. She was a tireless homemaker, mother of two daughters, a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, a beautiful singer, played organ in countless churches, and loved to sew and travel.

Ila was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Orwin Dexter; her parents, Clyde and Stella Dunagan; and one sister, Carmagene Kriz.

Survivors include two daughters, Dana Sterling and Lynne Carver, both of Decatur; one sister, Coramae Hulse of Dufur, Ore.; and one grandson, Ryan Mascaro of New York City, N.Y.
